CARLOS DE RIAÑO CARRIL

Spanish artist (Madrid 1986) who, in parallel to his profession of architect, works in a career dedicated to drawing and expressing forms and spaces. His work is a synthesis of volumetric and spatial ideas and reflections embodied in dense and complex perspectives.

From simple and minimalist shapes and geometries to which he was initially drawing, he went on to create more dense and complex spaces without losing the orthogonality characteristic of his first drawings. For a long time he drew only a line without incorporating colour. Then he began experimenting with few colours until he ended up using very wide ranges of colours and with a great diversity of tones. At the same time that he experimented with colours, it also opened up in its geometries, leaving the orthogonality we were talking about. He also introduced transparent forms, combining them with opaque ones, thus increasing the complexity of his most recent drawings.
